16MnDR steel plate has good comprehensive mechanical properties
16MnDR is a low alloy high strength steel, because the carbon content in hot rolled state is about 0.35%, so it is also called 16Mn steel. Its chemical composition (mass fraction) is: carbon ≤0.65%, silicon ≤2.0%, manganese ≤1.0%, phosphorus ≤0.05. The steel has high strength, toughness and good welding performance. But the 16MnDR steel plate must be treated with tempering and conditioning to obtain good comprehensive mechanical properties and welding properties.
Requirements for mechanical properties of 16MnDR steel plate. The mechanical property requirements are mainly due to the high strength and toughness characteristics of 16Mn steel. Under the same strength conditions, high toughness can greatly reduce its cost.
16Mn steel has low density, good comprehensive mechanical properties and good welding performance.
For 16MnDR steel plate, in addition to meet the strength requirements, but also have good comprehensive mechanical properties.
(1) The tensile strength, yield strength and elongation of 16MnDR steel plate must meet the standard requirements respectively.
(2) In meeting the strength requirements, 16MnDR steel plate should have appropriate toughness and wear resistance.
(3) Decarbonization is not allowed in 16MnDR steel plates.
(4) When there are different alloy contents or other special requirements in the same steel number, the requirements shall be determined separately according to the specific circumstances.
Adjust the requirement of yield strength, tensile strength and elongation of 16MnDR steel plate
In the production process, in order to prevent the defects in the smelting process of 16MnDR steel plate, it is necessary to strictly control the carbon content and make it meet the requirements by conditioning treatment.
(1) After hot rolling adjustment, when the yield strength is 200 MPa, the tensile strength is not less than 280 MPa, and when the elongation is 20%, the allowable yield strength is 200 MPa, the elongation is between 20%;
When the yield strength does not meet the requirements, cold drawing test can be carried out after tempering to meet the requirements.
(2) After hot rolling adjustment, when the yield strength is 180~200 MPa, it can be tested by cold drawing to meet the requirements; When the yield strength is 180~200 MPa, it can be tested by cold drawing to meet the requirements.
(3) After hot rolling adjustment, the tensile load of 16MnDR steel plate should be greater than the specified value before conditioning.
