ASTM A204 GR.A Pressure Vessel Plate

ASTM A204 GR.A material is molybdenum-alloy steel plates, intended particularly for welded boilers and other pressure vessels. ASTM A204 steel plates cited properties are appropriate for the as-fabricated (no temper or treatment) condition. It has the lowest strength and highest ductility compared to the other variants of ASTM A204 steel.

A204 Grade A Steel Heat Treatment

The maximum thickness of ASTM A204 Grade A pressure vessel plates is limited only by the capacity of the composition to meet the specified mechanical property requirements, however, current practice normally limits the maximum thickness of A204 Grade A pressure steel plates furnished under 150 mm. A204 Grade A pressure steel Plate in 40 mm and under in thickness are normally supplied in the as-rolled condition. The ASTM A204 Grade A bolier plates shall be normalized if over 40 mm.
