430F stainless steel

430F stainless steel is usually provided in bar form to be used in automatic screw machines.

430F stainless steel should be considered when making machined articles from a 17% chromium steel. Type 430F does not harden by heat treatment. It has been used in automatic screw machines for parts requiring good corrosion resistance such as aircraft parts and gears.

Grade 430F stainless steel cannot be welded due to its high sulfur content. If necessary, welding can be performed using low heat settings and AWS E/ER430 filler metal.
