Brazil's steel supply and demand will be balanced by the end of April

Brazil's National Association of Steel Distributors (INDA) said measures to restrict steel circulation across the country, together with production by steel companies and continued imports, should end Brazil's steel supply and demand imbalance.

Carlos Loureiro, President of INDA, said the plant's output, steel imports and the decline in consumption in March and April could help bring greater stability to the balance between steel supply and demand. He added that this might be the normalization of stocks in May and June that he had previously envisaged, and perhaps by the end of April.

Brazil's steelmakers have been criticised in recent months for product shortages and continued price adjustments, even though the blast furnace, which started to restart in the middle of last year, was shut down at the beginning of the country's massive crisis.
